Face, go through the 400 or so posts. :)

Why waste my time going back through your 400+ posts.  Most of these articles are/were listed on the front of the coacht which is where I read most of them.  No need to come here to read what you pasted and copied from the front.

I only read what was cut/copied and pasted from my children.

You missed some Tennessean articles, just saying

I do see a few duplicates on the home page listing, but usually with 12-20 clicks

This thread is well over 100 per day

Name me one other article in the Tennessean newspaper.  There are articles on their website that did not make the paper.

You are wrong again!

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Two years ago as a freshman, Corbin Hurley stamped himself as a rising star in the Tennessee High wrestling program when he won the decisive match of a clash with Sullivan East to deliver the Vikings their first Best of Bristol title.

Under eerily similar circumstances Monday, a new freshman phenom stepped into the spotlight for Tennessee High.

Judson McCray needed just 1:08 to record a pin in his winner-take-all, 113-pound match with giving-up-20-pounds underdog Ethan Arnold of Sullivan East as the Vikings squeaked by the Patriots with a 42-36 triumph following comfortable wins over John Battle (57-24) and Virginia High (52-21) to secure the Best of Bristol crown for the third straight year.

“It was pretty fun,†McCray said. “I knew I had the good coaching and I knew I was ready for it, but I’d never seen the other guy wrestle before.â€

Tennessee High went winless in the first 15 years of the duals tournament, but with its third straight victory matched John Battle for the longest streak in the history of the event. Battle won the first three titles from 1998-2000.

“I’ve only been here for the good times,†said McCray, who last week also helped Tennessee High secure its first state duals berth in 21 years. “I don’t know what it was like when they were getting beat.â€

Hurley, a 132-pounder who won all three of his matches Monday, including a 4-1 decision over Luke Hicks in the East clash, also has never experienced anything other than victory at the Best of Bristol.

Now a veteran team leader, Hurley said he tried not to put any extra pressure on McCray as the freshman stepped to the mat with the title on the line.

“I just told him, ‘Let’s go, let’s get it,’ †Hurley said. “That’s how we pump everyone up. I feel everybody should be treated the same way whether it’s the first match or the last match.

“Judson’s a really good wrestler and coming in on the team as a freshman and stepping up is a big accomplishment.â€

Vikings coach Tim Marshall said he had no worries with the match resting on his freshman’s shoulders. McCray, in fact, had already pulled out the most dramatic win of the night when he took an 8-6 overtime victory over Virginia High’s Dalton Jessee to kick off Tennessee High’s win over the Bearcats.

“When we looked on paper and saw that it was going to come down to him, I wasn’t wringing my hands,†Marshall said. “I was comfortable there.â€

After earning the clutch victory with a 1-0 decision in Tennessee High’s state-clinching win Thursday over Jefferson County, 220-pounder Kenneth Hagerman helped set up McCray for the Best of Bristol win by tying the match at 30 with another 1-0 triumph, this time over East’s Kaleb Bare, who had won his first two bouts Monday.

After a forfeit in the heavyweight class put Tennessee High behind again, Trent Nelson tied the match for the Vikings at 106 pounds, recording a pin in just 17 seconds against Elijah Hicks, another East youngster giving up multiple pounds even in the lowest weight class.

Marshall said the Best of Bristol title was just as meaningful Monday to the Vikings as it was two years ago when the program was still gunning for its first win in the event.

“It’s always something that’s really important,†he said. “It was a lot closer tonight than I think a lot of people thought, but it’s just as exciting.â€

Marshall added that the three straight Best of Bristol wins speaks to the year-in, year-out strength that the program is trying to build.

“That’s what we were shooting for, consistency, and that’s there,†he said. “For the foreseeable future – taking away nothing from any of the other programs – we should be in pretty good shape in this tournament.â€

The Vikings will lose just two seniors, Ethan Walker and Billy Stoots, who were honored Monday at Viking Hall. Walker and Stoots earned one win apiece Monday.

Nelson, McCray, Hurley and Hagerman were all named the top wrestler in their weight class for Monday’s tournament, along with teammates Dewey Pendley (138), Bryson Henley (145), Harold Johnson (160) and Jeremy Spangler (170).

East fell just short of its fifth Best of Bristol victory, but 126-pounder Logan Chase was the most dominant wrestle of the night as he recorded three pins in under a minute each for the Patriots.

“I believe he’s a state contender for sure,†said East coach Kevin Worley. “He’s the heart and soul of our team. Luke Hicks, Hunter Arnold and Logan Chase, they’re real leaders of this team. They’ve probably got the most experience, most mat time and it shows when they’re out there.â€

Hunter Arnold (152) and Parker Gentry (195) joined Chase in being honored as the top wrestlers in their weight class for the evening.

Worley said he was proud of his team, which features nine freshmen, for pushing Tennessee High to the limit.

“We’re on the cusp of it,†he said.

The Virginia schools failed to beat the Tennessee schools for the fifth straight year, but Bearcats 182-pounder Adam Lauman went 3-0 in contested matches and was named the top wrestler in his class. Virginia High’s Roger Miller (120) and Chris Stine (heavyweight) got the same honor and also each went 3-0, although Miller earned one victory by forfeit and Stine two.

With another Best of Bristol victory in hand, the Vikings will now prepare to depart Thursday for Franklin, Tennessee, looking to make some noise at the state level.

“If something would have happened tonight it could have been a momentum killer, but just full steam ahead,†Marshall said.

I am proactive which is to call you a liar when you are.  I have not missed the articles.  Why would you make such a statement with no facts?  As for being surprised, I am only shocked at your many false statements and stupid comments that you constantly make on this thread.  Just like your many copy and paste articles that pertain to a team far out of state and claim they are from Tennessee.

I digress.

hey face, so I'm a liar? You may want to do your due diligence and remember the little ditty, face,... if you chance to meet a frown, never let it stay, quickly turn it upside down by smiling all the way... no one likes a :(... change it for a smile, make the world a better place by smiling all the while;-)

seriously though... we need optimism on this board and throughout the wrestling community to build something better before choosing the cast stones in my opinion
