Congrats to UC on winning that gold ball. Way to represent West TN. I listened to the game & it sounded like you all had the same refs as we did in the Dresden/ Loretto game. TSSAA needs to work on the ref situation in the off season. They need to be more consistent throughout the season & in the state tournament. The kids should know what is allowed & what is not. Way to go Lady Tornadoes!!

Yes, it proves Union City is up to the level of play of 7A. Don't forget Jackson co nearly beat UC and led most of the way...but not when it counted. It is a shame that Clarkrange didn't get to play UC...that may have been the real championship...but yes, Union City proved it is the best team this year. Clarkrange, Jackson Co and Pickett Co. from 7A all will be in the hunt for the tournament next year. I believe that Union City has a great coach and the test will be to see if he can return again next year.

How's that? UC only beat JC by 6 points, a team Clarkrange beat 3 times this year. Clarkrange is a young team who played bad at the worst possible moment.

The DAY BEFORE UC beat Meigs, Clarkrange LOST to Meigs. Doesn't matter what you did in Nov. through Feb., this was March tournament time.   Teams that play bad at the worst possible moment usually do that because of the team they're playing. Meigs fans and coaches didn't look for excuses and blame the refs, they accepted that UC was a better team and their own bad play was because of what UC did to them. I guess the Meigs coach could have whined like Lamar did about officiating.

So because Meigs beat Clarkrange the day before that means UC would have beat then worse? That's just not true, just doesn't make sense. But Crange did lose so there is no way to know...

 

People are making way too much out of the whole comment by Lamar Rogers. He's got 8 state championships, 1 runner-up, and over 1000 wins... He's allowed a comment like that once every 30 years... UC is done after this year, Crange will come in as favorites next year...
