Roy told the team after the loss at Manassas that he was retired as of then. He will finish the school year and is gone from the classroom as well...congratulations on a long career and a well deserved rest, he's served the community and the kids well in football and baseball, as well as basketball. As for Gardner...you're joking...right? 

 

With the returning talent at Lexington, and the community support that they enjoy, this should draw some looks from top level coaches...not a stretch to say that they have a good shot to go to Murfreesboro next season.

Gardner obviously knew how to coach...that was never his problem. If you don't know(doubt it), you can find out...no need for me to go there, it's over and done.

Anyone heard any names mentioned? Is there an asst. on staff they are looking at? Bring back a ton of talent? Could attract a big name, but could be where they look young to build for a while with the support and rise in talent. Opinions?

This is a great job, they won't have a problem getting a great coach as this program should always be contending every year. Any names for sure surfaced?

This will be a 1 or 2 year job because after that, you have nothing. But if you trying get to the big stage in 1 year and move on after that you might be successful. Otherwise I wouldn't see a big name taking the job, maybe a assistant from somewhere

its a nice little town but i think it is a stretch to call it a "great" job. there are no great jobs in hs as long as you deal with parents and 6 classes a day, with this nut job commissioner of education and all this new evaluation stuff. now if they got a retired coach who didn't teach then it might be a great job for that person.
