I think they might of had to go to 2 games due to having to play the extra district games with the new school. I voted yes but kind of understand the difficulty of playing 18 district games (was 15 this year is 12). But less district games gives a chance to see some different schools if the teams will schedule (and they should since the non-district games are essentially exhibition games for district seeding purposes).

By playing each team on consecutive day's prevents one stud pitcher from winning 75% of a teams district games.  IMO, it takes a team with 6-8 pitchers to win a state championship and most teams try to get by with 3-4 pitchers.

Williamson County's District has 7 teams and is playing 3-game series for 18 total district games...

Only District Games are used for seeding the district tournament.  Non-district games are not part of any tie-breaker in our bylaws.

If Williamson is doing it, then 7AAA can do it too. When you think about it, it is not that big of a deal to add that third game during the week.

 

Do you know why they went back to a 2 game series this year (or was it last year)? I know 2010-2011-2012 were three game series years.

I believe it should go back to 3 game series as well, It clearly defines the better team when you play a 3 game series and something else no one is bringing up is that baseball teams don't bring in money like football and basketball. The teams need to raise money , you see a lot bigger crowds at district games than these glorified scrimmage games everyone is playing now and the games mean something so they are so much better to watch.

Yep, two evenly matched teams. Feel kind of cheated at 1-1. Like bluetick mentioned, one of the booster club treasurers would be thrilled.

Yeah, I miss three-game series, too. There's been way too many splits this season, and looking at the list of tiebreakers David posted in another topic, if Riverdale and Siegel both end up at 9-3, they may end up going to the fifth tiebreaker on that list.
