ScreaminEagle
Those aren't the words they were using before we beat them at THEIR place!! How is that for correct usage? It's a different game if Adamsvilles #17 is thrown out of the game, for throwing a punch on CC's first offensive play, like the kid from CC was later in the game. cardfan
Because at CC they teach them the correct usage of the words "there" and "their"! oh you so funny my phone auto corrects and fills in didnt proof read but THERE is no grammar police on message boards we are not in class. TheBulldog
A few thoughts after reading this thread... Can someone explain why discontinuing this series is a good idea? Adamsville took beatings for 20+ years from the Bobcats. Did people in Selmer really think that they would dominate (look at the scores, they not only won they dominated) forever? Sports change. Coaches come and go, players graduate, and eventually things shift. Eventually, the tides will turn back in McNairy's favor. I really hope people from Adamsville aren't ignorant enough to think that the tides have turned forever in this series. I have heard people on both sides say that Adamsville-McNairy isn't even a rivalry anymore because Adamsville has dominated in the past few years. They weren't screaming that when McNairy was dominating. That's absolutely insane. That crowd doesn't show up if they "aren't rivals" and the emotion you saw doesn't come out if "they aren't rivals". That's like saying Tennessee-Florida or Tennessee-Alabama aren't rivals because Tennessee hasn't been competitive in recent history in those series. In my opinion, everyone in the situation needs to step back and chill out. People in Adamsville need to soak up what this program has accomplished in recent years and enjoy it while it's happening, because it won't last forever. Quit being so sensitive about people screaming that Adamsville recruits... This is an open enrollment county. That's the bottom line, kids can go where they want. People who support McNairy need to step back from crying about "recruiting" and what Adamsville is doing and support their kids and coaching staff. Rome wasn't built in a day, it took time to get the ball rolling for Coach Gray and his staff in Adamsville. I do believe Coach Hodge, IF given time, with his energy and enthusiasm will build McNairy back into a competitive program. I do believe with his comments in his introduction, he has set himself up on a pedastal for people to expect an instant turnaround and I did not like his actions at all on Friday night. Call it what you want, it was an extremely selfish move to be ejected. He has put his entire staff and team in a bind now because he couldn't control his emotions. A head coach cannot act this way, period. I would say the same if it was Coach Gray. The first 15 yard penalty should have been the end of it, let the official know he messed up and move on. I give a lot of credit to officials, there are many who give their best effort. But, they're human and they'll miss a call (some more than others and some way more than others). But that's the game. If you are mentally weak enough to let a bad call phase you enough to be ejected, as a HEAD COACH, how will your team respond? I think there's a reason that we saw the momentum shift for good in that game and McNairy rolled over. They aren't mentally tough enough right now and that starts at the top. With that said, I wish Coach Hodge the best at McNairy. I do believe he is giving a solid effort to turn the program around and if he is given time and continues to put in the energy and effort he has brought into this thing, it will turn around. This county has the athletes to have two quality football programs to support in the fall. Ending this series would be an absolute shame and will not fix anything. People will still complain on both sides about the same things, because the two will still have to exist in the same county. The fact of the matter is, everyone in the situation needs to step back and worry about their own program. Enjoy the ride if you're in Adamsville and start supporting Coach Hodge in Selmer rebuilding McNairy. My eyes are bleeding now!!
ScreaminEagle
what are you smoking he didnt throw any punch.Yes he did. Right cross to the head of CC's #52. rfbatboy
Bahahahahaha...... This thread is getting gooder and gooder < (Lil Country Grammer) . I find it funny that Hodge had the same kind of anger problems at his last job, I'm sure thats a reason as to why he is no longer there. Even gets on TV and says it was a answered prayer as to the reason he was there. Sounds like he sound pray for his anger management before the game, but I'm not the Big Judge so nothing to me just saying. Aville is am laughing at the fact you calling out 4a and 5a ball what does the school size have to do with how your team plays? Just because you have more kids doesnt mean they want to play football!! You play for your Gold ball and keep trashing the other teams the way you do isnt a class program either.. Sounds like you got problems too, cause you been to the dance twice and came back empty. Not to mention you lost to a 2A ball team 2 weeks ago.. You will lose again soon, bet that, somebody will cork your pie hole!!!
9oldschool5
this is a good post but I believe the series should end, not forever but for a couple years anyway. people in selmer will always complain but would complain less if aville wasn't on schedule. there is no recruiting going on just informed decisions being made by parents and kids who can look with their own eyes (like fri night) and make a decision. the ref was not wrong on that play fri night either. it was the correct call of an incomplete pass, know your football. also cc is a very good up and coming program in 4a and it is fun to play them every year. some examples of why series should end: dad radio announcer accuses aville of running up score at 36-0 in 3rd. when as recently as 2000 score was 62-0 mchs, yeah that's running up score. scoreboard time mysteriously stops working in late 3rd, and I know mercy rule may have been in effect but game was over supper fast after that. fans on home side heckling aville coaches in press box escorted out of game. coach goes ape $&%* in first qtr. setting tone for everyone to act that way which leads to mchs player being ejected later. I think aville is tired of the drama and seriously need to be challenged more than they have been the last few years during this window of opportunity for aville. also announcer refused to announce aville players names bc several of them freely chose aville over mchs. its just that entitlement attitude that is fun to put in their place but not fun to deal with 365 days of the year. We ain't calling out anyone , we schedule 4 and 5a teams for a reason ! If you say the size of your school doesn't matter then your as off as your post ! That's why they have divisions moron! But as far as us having problems making it to Cookeville , I'd rather have that problem than buying tickets and watching us play in November like you and yours ! Keep smoking what your smoking cause it's got you tripping !
coltmccoy
Bulldog, definitely a long winded post. Just got rolling there for a minute. oldschool, Just to clear things up. I wasn't saying the call was wrong. Just saying that officiating is a part of the game and they'll miss some. However you feel about the call, you can't react like what we saw Friday night. Also, wasn't saying recruiting was going on. I do believe you make valid points on why the series should take a break. Could be good for both. Ultimately when they meet again, the nastiness will come back in my opinion. It's a rivalry and any true rivalry doesn't have a touch of industrial sized nastiness.
