Post Season Rules Question

Monday evening Merrol Hyde Magnet knocked Smith County HS out of the district playoffs.  Much to my surprise Tuesday evening Smith County HS played a "Black & Gold" game and honored their seniors before the game.  More then one teacher/coach at the game mentioned that this game is against TSSAA rules.  However, the game was played without TSSAA refs (local ex-players refereed) and it was an inter-squad game, does that affect the rule?

Because this was an inter-equad game and players were were part of his team, there is no problem.

"Any organized game in which players not registered with TSSAA participate – regardless of whether admission is charged - is considered as an independent game."
