Red Devils Spring

Things looked better in Red Devil land this spring, may win a couple this year, maybe??? anyone else see the scrimmage Friday?

They did look better. You can see improvement on both sides of the ball. Lets just hope they stay healthy! Have not seen them with that much confidence in a long time. Looking forward to seeing more.

Who did they scrimmage? What was the outcome?

Oliver Springs.  I can report that touchdowns were scored BOTH in the air and on the ground.

Halls scored 6 and OS scored once,Halls scored on every position and only had one negative play the whole scrimmage on offense, my cousin plays receiver and is fired up about the season.

This sounds great but I would sure like to think we could be Oliver Springs any day of the week and twice on holidays!

I see what your saying but OS was big and played hard, I'm pretty sure OS has been to the playoffs allot more then we have over the last few years, I think it wasn't about winning a scrimmage, the team looked much better in how they were playing the hustle that was going on and how excited all the players were the whole time, as far as I know scrimmages don't get listed in the win, loss column, OS was a good team they had some good players and overall the scrimmage was pretty good.

I hope you all do improve this year .I thought you all looked like the most improved team last year at the new land stadium jamboree and then when the season started back too the bottom you all went .but hey its a new year and hope to see a competitive team this year.good luck.

Hopefully Halls will be improved this year. Oliver Springs has a decent single-A football program, but they haven't been to the playoffs in a few years. Remember, OS is playing teams like Oakdale, Jellico, and Wartburg annually. Just about every team in 3-AAA should be able to beat a team like OS on a regular basis.

As a parent who has been a part of the community for 10 years, a successful scrimmage is just that.  SUCCESSFUL.  These kids need something to build on.  If that means beating up on an 'A' school, I'm all for it.  I really think this is the start of a successful run.  Now, all bets are off when the season starts.  But I think multiple wins are capable this year, and we might just surprise a team or two.

Best wishes to the Red Devils this year from Oak Ridge. I'd like to see Halls get back to their glory days. It would only be of benefit to the rest of the district and the overall competitiveness of it. You guys deserve something to be proud of after having to endure such bad teams for so long.
