CHATTACANES CANES 2014

Recommended Posts

Sounds like my Canes got handled pretty good by Maryville. I expected that considering all the talent EH lost from last years squad. I'm sure there are some diamonds in the rough to be discovered over on the Hill. Just give it time. They should be pretty good by mid-season if the that tough early schedule don't break them.

I worry very little about you. My joy comes not from a scrimmage with the Canes, but at the misery you take at eating your ignorant words. Now tell me of one great player that beat a great team. Tell me how your Owls will be great in their district. Spin your broken record. I take great joy in your ignorance coming full circle. Summer of big talk now comes to tucking your tail like a scolded dog. Maryville may lose a game this year or next, but they will remain a great program. What will become of the never was that you are PA? Look forward to speaking again after the siegel game.

'Maryville may lose a game this year or next, but they will remain a great program" . That is the key Maryville has a program not a team, lots of good teams up a few years down a couple, but a great program is a class all to it's self. I guess Coach Gatewood plays good programs to show our kids and fans what it takes to be great. We play Riverdale yes rthey have bean down but finished3rd in that district last year, and Kingsport DB, and yes scrimmage Maryville. I do think the scrimmage yesterday will in the long run help the Canes..........

We have work to do, but there were some bright spots......... a avg 5A school got beat by a 16 time state champion 6A program....... As of right now our record is 0-0....... We will be OK.

they may take it, luckily for us we will be in 1st.

Right now, I will take a 3rd spot and a 1st round road trip......... There are 3 key games  that I see.

1. Signal reason why it could set the tone, and with a trip to Kingsport DB the next week we need to win this game it's at home.

2. @ McMinn really need this one and it will not be easy.

3. @ Bradley they could be fight to get into the playoffs.

Chattacane, DougVick, and even the bread man, Biscuit, what is the latest about you guys losing about 4 players that have moved to Ringgold High School. Are u guys building a power house and just laying low for every one and wanting to surprise people. See you at the Jamboree. Please do not hurt us much .

EH has only lost 2 players TOTAL to Ringgold in the last 6 years. One was mainly a basketball player and the other started at Ringgold and transferred back after being at EH for a year.

Thus, your initial question is flawed and erroneous. There is no "latest about losing 4 guys to Ringgold". Might want to check your sources.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
