MountainTroll
There might be one or two privates move to DII "voluntarily", but the total split (if it comes) will be a couple more years.

That's just it. We can't move for 3 more years even if we want too.

MountainTroll
That's just it. We can't move for 3 more years even if we want too. Curious where you heard that, because I heard otherwise. If a school goes to T$$AA and says we intend to give need based financial aide to athletes, I believe T$$AA will let them move between 2-year contracts. With the complete reclassification scheme and schools allowed to voluntarily move up a class, I don't see why T$$AA wouldn't let a private school make the DI to DII switch, so they can "better serve their Mission". From someone in the school who knows and has talked to the tssaa about our options
orangeslice13
Although you may be onto something troll If we decided to move we should call the tssaa and say we are now offering aid to athletes. Where do you want us to play? To be clear. No decisions have been made at Boyd that I'm aware of. And I don't know which way the school is leaning. I personally am in favor of the move though. D2 would be good for football but not so much for other sports like basketball and wrestling. We don't have any d2 schools in Chattanooga so travail would increase dramatically. That's why I'm in favor of the split. It would eliminate the travail issue if all the privates went with us.
RETIREDSSG
the way I see it.. 1A 1. Unaka, Hancock Co., Cloudland, Jellico 2. Oneida, Harriman, Midway, Greenback, Oakdale, Sunbright, Coalfield 3. Whitwell, Sale Creek, Grace Baptist(Chatt), Copper Basin, Lookout Valley move Oneida West to district with Monterey, not because of their successes, but because it makes sense! closest school to district 1 from district 2 is Greenback or Coalfield.
