We had 14 penalties called against us and DA had 4 - the refs saw a completely different game than we as fans saw.  Guess that happens sometimes but it sure looked like they were trying to influence the game.

Hey nCSdad1962: I've been meaning to ask you if any of the 14 penalties you guys got were "personal fouls" are were they all of the holding and offsides stuff? Lol back at you. Just pulling your chain.

I really think NCS will win this big. I think you believe it too but I know you don't want to say it.

Yeah, we had one.  One of our linebackers picked up a smaller ball carrier and instead of gently laying him on the ground, tackled him like he was a bag of cotton balls.  No one told us that TN high school football had switched to flag football.

tackling so hard?  exact words?  I didn't know they announced penalties in high school games.  regardless, what actually happen?  do they like get stood up, whistle blown, then slammed to the ground?

On our situation, I was too far away from the field to hear a whistle, but it happened so fast (from the point of contact to the body slam) that I really doubt a whistle had blown.  The ball carrier was picked up off the ground and slammed to the ground in one fast motion.  Maybe we need to switch to weight classifications like they do in pee-wee ball.  Ours was just a personal foul call.

I won't be able to make it...biggest game of the year and I "have to" celebrate my anniversary.  Go figure!  I managed to get out of it last year but not this year.

Cracking me up!!  Sounds like you made the right decision on that one.  Better keep that phone with the scores on it in your pocket or you'll get some nasty looks from your wife.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
