Yeah I'm not sure why preps has a phantom loss to Bearden on their record. Outside of the jamboree, they never played.

yea, that's weird, I have notice that kind of thing with a few teams I have looked at and I just did not catch it.  Looking forward to coming to Powell this week, maybe we can end that 4 game losing streak this Friday, this always seems to be a good game, but Powell always seems to have our number.

I finally made it out to a game last week. You will be dumbfounded when you see the Powell sidelines on Friday. Their numbers might be half of what they were 1-2 seasons ago. Really unfortunate to see the tailspin that the program is in, but that's what annual head coaching changes will do to a program.

Oddly enough, the team has some nice pieces (good defensive line, some solid receivers, QB has a great arm too) but the obvious problem is coaching. They are trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, and some of that is probably due to the fact that they've been running the spread for so long and now they are trying to implement the wing-t. From what I've seen, the Panthers have had the most success when they've lined up in the spread and slung it around. That style certainly fits their personnel better, especially with a QB like Sepesi.

The Central game was a snoozer. It was anyone's game until Powell had a field goal blocked late in the 3rd. Central cashed in on two short fields after that, while Powell failed to score on their two subsequent red zone trips after halftime. With that said, Powell is playing a lot better offensively 4-5 weeks into the season, compared to where they were against Fulton/CAK.

I hope you guys go easy on the Panthers, but if given the opportunity, I wouldn't be shocked to see you really run it up, given the recent history in this series.

"PUNK" alert special... Cleveland over West by a trickle. Defensive struggles have got the Rebel Nation in an uproar! Prove me wrong!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
