Warriors play tonight at 7 vs. (the home-town team) pickett county. It will be a hard fought battle on the boards and perimeter, with lots of post entries kickouts and 3-balls everywhere. The warriors have been practicing all week on how to defend this and tonight they will put it to the test.

7:00 p.m.-White co. Vs. Pickett Co.

GO WARRIORS!!!!

The White Co. student fans were rude last night and again tonight but got very quiet when the very young "A" Pickett Co. Bobcats easily beat their large school AAA boys 59-41. These fans did not leave a very good impression of White Co. High School.

i went to the game last night in Pickett County. The Sparta fans was complaining about the refs. They may have called alot of touch fouls but overall they were ok refs. Slatten is doing the best he can with what he has. GUARDS ---please follow your shots when you shot the ball(not every ball goes in the basket.)

Come on, I heard that the hometown refs were so biased that Pickett Co scored 1 basket the 3rd quarter and got 21 points in foul shots. Really!!!! Double technicals. Was White County the only rude one? Don't you think that Pickett County might have had a little going to want to beat a "AAA" team as you so elegantly put it. I think Pickett County played well, don't get me wrong, I am not trying to take anything away from them, but it sounded a little lop-sided over the radio. I wasn't there, could someone from White County that was there please respond. We have heard very forcefully from Pickett County

    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
