Mount Juliet vs Oakland

MJ is the underdog but that is ok.

MJ does need to play its best game of the season to achieve the upset.

MJ has an offense that at times has looked unstoppable but it also has been it's own worse enemy at times with penalties, turnovers and sacks.

Defense has created a lot of turnovers but has given up entirely too many big plays.

The conversation would be different if we had managed to close out the Beech and Gallatin games when we had the lead in the 4rth quarter of both games. (of course then we would not play Oakland in round 1)

Thankful that the kids fought to the end in each game this year.

Regardless of the score or the weather there is nowhere I would rather be on a Friday night!

MJ simply doesn't have the size on the line to stack up against Oakland nor Blackman. Not saying they don't have the skill but pound for pound, its a tough draw in the first round.

See this is an example of a reasonable post, it's true, and doesn't get the point off in a negative manner. Good for you Albert Pine. Yes, our line is undersized, and we lack speed in our skill positions. Chowbay is our beast. Our kids play hard and our Coaching staff is coming together. Edited by MJGOLDENBEARS

I'm not meaning to disrespect the current Mt. Juliet team at all, and definitely not the 2011 and 2012 teams.

Those were great football teams. I've also had great experiences at Mt. Juliet when visiting to watch games. The whole football complex is by far one of the best in the state.

But, I see them getting blown out by a large margin. Oakland has way too much speed and size to go home this early, not to mention they're on an emotional high after winning nine straight games. They're determined to play Blackman again.

Don't forget the jamboree from this season-- 2 quarters MJ-0 Oakland-42. MJ has great coaching but lacks the athletes to win this week. I wish it were different but it's my true feeling having seen them play.

Starters only played one quarter, and MJ first team did move the ball well. Either way, it's a tough tough task for MJ to stay in the ball game. They will give it their all.
