Playoff teams with losing records

There are 15 teams, if I counted right, that made the playoffs with losing records.  13 teams went 4-6 and 2 teams went 3-7.

When we go back to the new regions, will we have more or less teams in the playoffs with losing records?

I say more.

Anytime more than half the teams in a league make the post-season, chances are high that some teams will have losing records.  With 6 classes, each class other than 6A next year having 53-58 teams, with 32 making it, several losing teams should make it.  About half of 6A will have losing records going into their automatic week 11 next year......

I would guess that how many team will be in the playoffs next year with losing records will depend largely the first criterion for the playoffs: overall record or region record.  If overal record is the first criterion some schools may play it safe with their out of region games. But if region standing is the first criterion then a coach can afford to play a tougher, or diverse, schedule.

That's the problem right there. There are way too many classes for the playoffs. Tennessee should have no more than 4 classes.
