Not really. Catholic already knew that CAK wasn't playing next year. The only time we ever played them was the very first year they started football and the last two years when we were in the same district. Since there was only a history of 3 games, we were expecting them not to play. Also, losing 70-23 kind of reinforces the notion that you won't play. Webb was a surprise but they have to do what they have to. Say what you want but I've heard rumors that if Rankin could get out the Maryville game he would.

Playing Maryville is part of the job description for any Alcoa coach. I know of a bunch of 6A coaches that would like to not play Maryville either.

All of them lol. Has GQ ever thought about going to college? I think read somewhere that Baylor's (University) coach was a high school coach before getting hired there. He could coach at the FCS level for sure. Edited November 23, 2014 by QSouth89

Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss was a high school coach in Memphis and coached Michael Oher, the real player from the Blind Side movie. Lots of coaches started in high school.
