I know there's going to be some names left out and that's why I don't like pitting them on here so sorry of I miss some but you got Owen Risner qb, Carson Ray defensive back/wide receiver, Myles Prince rb then for the line you got Colin Bratcher, Corey Mathis, Alex Byrd, and Aaron Wilson to name a few. There's no way to name them all but that's a start.

can or will any of these names help wc this year......get any playing time

I'm excited for this 2015 edition of Wayne County football, and this is coming from a sweater vested Nashville Christian fan. I traveled to Columbia and watched WC "wup" up on Columbia Academy last year for 3 1/2 quarters (still can't believe the outcome of that one), and then WC's never quit attitude and toughness against my Eagles in Nashville. There was some smash mouth hard hitting football by both teams in that one.

I will always love the passionate WC fans, and their animated commentary. This 2015 WC team should make a deep run in the playoffs. Until possibly some time in November, I say "Give em 48 minutes of heck, Go WildCats".

tough first game with Mt Pleasant

Yes indeed it will be a tough game but the Tigers have only beaten us 2 times in the last 7 years ('12 & '13). They always got a good football team over there in Mt Pleasant and for as long as i can remember every yr we play them it is a hard fought game. I only know a little bit of who all they have coming back but last years team was 7-5. They had a 1st rd bye in the 2A playoffs and ended up getting beat pretty good by Adamsville in the 3rd rd. Wayne County beat them 48-32 in Week 9.

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
