.... When ss played uc first game of the year, the new kid went out and deberry stepped up at the point position. Deberry and Stockdale are both versatile but Stockdale is better down low in the post... Who recruits 6'1 post players??? Even if deberry was in the post, who recruits 6'5,6'6 post players??? Deberrys is 6'6 and has better guard skills than some one that is a little over 6 feet, and you call me crazy? They both are fairly good players on the Single A level but deberry is a overall better prospect. That doesn't knock anything that Stockdale does but I will go with Marcus deberry and that's my opinion. Seems like you don't like deberry that much do you?

They arent asking the best prospect; but the best player. To me both Stockdale and Deberry are both very good Deberry is a prolific Small Forward and he has the size and a great 3 point shot for the next level. Stockdale is a guard playing the post he reminds me of tony wilkins who was a guard but played very well inside. Both are great and both could score 20+ each night. So I would have to give the edge to Stockdale just cause of his motor.

Oh and you say Deberry and Stockdale are pretty good players for a single a school. .Stockdale with 25 and Deberry with 18..against Cordova aaa..Thats pretty good on any level and I can assure you Stockdales points didn't come off of stick backs and dump offs..U better ask somebody.

You act like cordova is the best AAA team in the state... UC still lost to SS which is AA.. You need to worry about Mitchell, a Single A school that is playing a national schedule right now and still competing. There whole team is back besides maybe 2 but their big 3 is back..focus on trying to win a state title

I understand your opinion.. And like I stated earlier, I mentioned stockdales motor.. And I did state both were good players so it can go either way..

We all know Mitchell is VERY good..I dont know if UC can beat Mitchell but the chances are better on a netural floor..I cant worry about a state title im just a fan..I dont have a kid playing nor am I a coach but I do know what player in my personal opinion to go through to get their!! I believe Sisco tried Deberry his sophomore year against Lake County and where did that get him? ?.0 for 19

I agree and hopefully we can put Stewart in with them soon as he comes back from injury. Hes getting offers already I've noticed as a sophomore; so lets dont sleep on him yet cant wait to get him back, and see this UC team full force.

I understand where you coming from and you know what, I'm baseing this off the 3 or 4 gamed I've seen UC play.. You seem to be more knowledgeable of the team since you can go back years to now.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
