Great first run at a Top Teams and Top 5 Individuals combined.  I will have to study it.  At least there is a stab at an overall ranking.  You may agree with it or not, at least it has been put out for all of us to review and comment.  I will say at this point it is only a stab at it at this point, not at the end of the year.  Father Ryan and Cleveland will battle it out on Friday for the Dual ranking.  Cleveland has beaten them the last few years.  This has always been a great match every year and both should be commended for wrestling each other.  I hear that Father Ryan is going to wrestle in the Bradley tournament again this year.  Another great test for both teams.

Although a great "stab" at it, these ranking are flawed in many places. Please do some more "studying" because anybody that knows anything about wrestling in the state of Tennessee could easily point out at least 5 flaws. I will do so myself, and i hope you go home study and get back to me.

While you are off "studying" these rankings i can already point out 5 easy flaws that i found without your "studying" technique.

1. At 120 you neglected Jack Reynolds (Baylor) who beat one of the Elkins (MBA) last year.

2. You also neglected Ryan McElhaney (Bradley Central) a monster on the mat.

3. Sam Bellet (MBA) has wrestled 138 all year, you have him ranked at 132.

4. Although Garrison (Blackman) did not lose this past season he did not win the state title, Tucker Russo (Soddy Daisy) did win state title and is an overall better wrestler.

5. Bam Bam Feuerbacher (Blackman) is to big, to explosive, and to strong, for any one else at 138 to handle. Especially Dendy (Mccallie) coming up from 126 and Murphy (Baylor) coming all the way up from 113

And dont even get me started on 220. This is the worst weight class of all.

Once again this is off the top of my head without doing any "studying"

WesternWrestler,

This is just my opinions and a list that i put together quickly.

Please feel free to put your own list together and use your own time to put a list together because I'm sure we would all love to here your wrestling "wisdom"

I do however believe that 120 is a stacked weight and that it is close to correct.

1. Trey Chalifoux

2. Nick Crawford

3. Luke Mullin

4. Gabriel Elkin

5. Justin Becci

you are arguing that i should include Ryan McElhaney and Jack Reynolds but i personally just don't see them beating these top 5. This is a stacked weight.

Yes, garrison did not compete in state last year but that was not due to his abilities, that was due to an infection. If , he would have wrestled he would have been a state champion.

Dendy and Murphy are both great wrestlers, Josh is a great wrestler also i just don't see him beating those two studs

Maybe WesternWrestler is the one who should spend a little more time "studying"

You did exactly as I stated.  It was a great first stab at it and all could respond.  No need to respond to me, I did not list the rankings, only commented on them.  You are on to me for studying the rankings, I only stated let the comments begin.  Why are you calling me out?  I did nothing other than to say let the talk begin?

Your anger needs to be directed at somebody else.

Slept on this last night and revisited this morning and came to this conclusion:

Westernwrestler, you are an idiot.  You take a pot shot at me when I did not post the ranking.  Then you make your biggest mistake, you try to talk intelligently, only to show your ignorance.  Ethan Dendy wrestled 119 lbs. last year and placed 2nd in the state to CBHS.  He did not wrestle 126 lbs.  So, before you take pot shots at others for no reason, open mouth wide and insert boot.  Also, do not see Feuerbacher beating Dendy or Murphy.

P.S.  You may want to do some more studying before posting again,  It might help you not look so illiterate.

You are correct Dendy did not wrestle 126 last year, but he did not wrestle 119 either. Does this make us both idiots? Edited by westernwrestler

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
