Didn't get to go after all the build up. Thank goodness for web casts.

First off... Congrats to both teams for laying it on the line. The state duals should be awesome! Hopefully the wife won't have a sudden project for me to do again!

Which team was correct in it's predictions??

The edge goes to Father Ryan .

They won the big three swing matches as predicted at 145,152,220 even getting bonus at 220 which even they didn't see coming. They were also correct in bonus Pts at 106. The little Simpson has a brutal half in case nobody knew that. Ryan was also correct that they wouldn't get pinned at 126 this time.Ryan was also correct in predicting no bonus at 160 although I would have been calling stalling 30 seconds into the match on that one and I hate stalling calls.

Baylor was correct in predicting no bonus at 113 , 120, the win at 126, and the huge swing match with Murphy vs King. I'm glad King didn't drop down and we got to see that one. It will be interesting to see if he drops for duals and state.

As mentioned Baylor was wrong about the swing matches at 145, 152, 220. I thought 184 was interesting with Garstin and Holloway both making comebacks.

I'm not even going to predict the next match between the two. It's honestly a toss up.

Just a few observations from the match:

1. Both teams are much better than when they wrestled in early December

2. Holloway was the difference as it was a 9pt swing. If the Irish had not put Garston in the lineup it would have been a 12 point swing. Would be interesting to see how a healthy Garston would do against former state champion Holloway.

3. Murphy truly looks 10-15/lb larger than King

4. Bonus points win big dual matches against evenly matched teams

5. Not sure it help Baylor or Ryan to change their lineup for the State Duals. Father Ryan is just going to have to find a way to get better or hope Baylor takes a step back.

6. These are truly the two best dual match teams in Tennessee regardless of classification

    • Hmmmmm……doe dee doe doe….i drove the lawnmower down to practice today…….hmmmm…… we got some new faces………. One can run faster than my lawnmower in fifth gear…… a few will be disappointed come November that they jumped ship and went down to that sewage facility……. You can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.
    • Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.
    • “No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team.” For language? I’m not seeing that as a dealbreaker.
    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
