The mighty Lions don't have a bite or roar once again. RBS by at least 13. CC goes winless on the season and fire their coach at the end of the year. The whole losing process just starts over and history will most likely repeat itself once again unfortunately.

You are so right but without a middle school program where many areas of school could be pushed makes no difference who is the head coach. Nick Saban would still be coaching with one arm tied behind his back. And what all the other sports and extra stuff that you could have. Coach might quit but will not be fired.

Since you seemto be in the know with cchs football and other sports why is football the only major sport at cchs that struggles with not having the middle school situation, don't they have younger league football for the youth of Woodbury, and play other teams or do they just start when they get to high school. All posts from previous threads seem to point to the head coach not having knowledge and support.

 

 

You are so right but without a middle school program where many areas of school could be pushed makes no difference who is the head coach. All sports and other programs would benefit from a middle school being built. I believe that if you went to the high school and ask all the coaches they would be in agreement. Cannon  history is super in basketball but even it could be better. Just wish things could improve in many areas.

Just looked at your basketball teams over last six years your boys program 2 substates and district titles and your girls team four times at state tourney it sounds like the athletes for boys sports wanna play basketball but not football maybe the problem or issues are not middle school situation but what leads up to the high school coaches on the football side not being able to coach the kids in the school or the kids in the school, are not fooled in knowing he is not a quality coach

I agree the male ball players are there but not enough of them want to play football. When you are in K-8 and the only school teams are basketball  you want to play for your school and that is very  easy to understand.Almost all high school teams in the state have middle schools that fed in to the high schools. Makes it very hard to playat the 3-A level without it.

So back to one of my original questions there is no organized football ,league in Woodbury for these players until they are freshman in high school

There are teams, maybe three age groups, not sure. I was told last year that the 6th, 7th and 8th grade team had 12 or 13 players. I have friends that teach at some of the K-8 schools that tell me that no boys from their schools play or maybe one or two.

Wow, that is really sad.  Why do they not have a team made up of 6-8th grades at the k-8 schools?
