What about hockey???

i recently attended a hockey match in franklin. Ba's first ever game was against Page. Although BA got beat 5-0 they looked very very good. they have a top prospect in aaron broach, who will soon be recieving letters very soon, only bc he is a sophmore right now. Page was decent though. Although BA might not win a game, they will be very competitive soon. Any other hockey thoughts?

Hockey gets my vote. I have a real quiet time between Football and Soccer as I am not that interested in Basketball, Hockey would sure fill that void.

One of the great things about going to these H.S. Hockey games is...they are free to attend!!

 

Yes, there are some very good hockey players too. I believe this is Page's second year with a hockey team. They are a good team. The league is very wide open in skill level. Those that have better skilled athletes on the team seem to win more. They are fun to go watch. If you get a chance I suggest you go check out a hockey game.

As a member of the Brentwood Academy hockey team, I can honestly say that Aaron "Gooch" Broach will end up getting a full scholarship to Maine or Boston College. My gut says that Aaron will make it all the way to the NHL and win a Stanley Cup in his first 5 years. Yeee Gooch.

In Canada it is very common to be recruited straight to the Pros. Wayne Gretzky didn't go to College to the best of my knowledge.

Hockey is kinda like baseball where that is concerned, they recruit out of high school and stock a farm system.

 

Is that kid from Brentwood really being looked at by those schools?

I think it would be great to see more schools have hockey teams, but the cost of running a program like that would be so high that most shools coulden't afford it.What schools in Tennessee have hockey?

The only school that funds the hockey program is MBA. All the other teams are paid for by the players, unless the team has sponsors. But, yes, ice hockey is fairly expensive due to equipment and the price of ice time which is roughly $3.00 per minute divided by how many players you have on your team.
