Saw the wb/Murvil game last night. Wb could have won by 30+ if they wanted. What has happened to that group of Murvil jrs? I watched them go undefeated 2 straight years in middle school. I know some of those girls are not playing anymore, but they really looked bad the last 2 times I have watched them. What's up?

Did the Coulter kid play?

I agree that Mo West & Bearden could make some noise in the boro this year just as they both did last year in getting to the final 4. However I do think ETN is underrated. Maybe you were just meaning in AAA but if not teams like Elizabethton, South Greene, Meigs Co, GP and a few others have great chances as well. Elizabethton probably goes on without a defeat.

I was just referring to 3a. Absolutely Elizabethtown and South greene will make noise in 2a and 1a. Only grime with Elizabethtown is their soft schedule. South greens seems to have been challenged by larger schools which will help them. Don't see gp as a contender.

It's funny how folks characterize Elizabethton's schedule as soft. The conference schedule is weak overall, but that is what it is (BTW, Sullivan East is pretty darn good). I don't know how the non-conference games can be characterized as weak. The Lady Cyclones have defeated East Hamilton, Daniel Boone twice, Gate City VA, Greeneville, South Forsyth (6A in GA), and Western Branch (6A in VA). Additionally, they beat William Blount and McMinn Central in a play day just before the start of the season. I know it's not part of the official season, but the Lady Cyclones had an impressive summer camp season as they won 23 games with 0 losses in 10 days including wins over M. West, Bearden, Jeff Co., S. Greene, and Blackman (the only defeat this summer).

You have got to be kidding me, play day at William Blount. I was there, I saw WB and MC play Elizabethton. I saw those 2 teams play their whole bench in a PLAY DAY, and seen Etown play its top 6 to try to win, (ridiculous). Oh and by the way MC almost won so please keep those stats in your pocket, for they mean absolutely nothing.

No I'm not kidding! The point of my post was about schedule strength (which was an indirect kudos to MC because I respect their program). I just threw the PLAY DAY results in for good measure. Apparently you have an issue with EHS. Regardless, you had to downplay the play day because the result wasn't to your liking. I'm betting you would have a totally different take if the results were different. And by the way, EHS did more than "try and win" in both cases - they did win! I totally understand the dynamics of the play day, but I'm sure both MC and WB didn't try to lose either. I suppose MC's losses to Maryville and WB are because their coaches tried to win and the MC coach didn't...SMH. If you're going to comment on a post, then please try and stay on topic. Otherwise, let me worry about what stats to keep in my pocket. I respect MC and know they are good, but I like the Lady Cyclones' chances in a head-to-head. Who knows, maybe that will happen.

MC has to make too. Yeah, I remember last year. EHS lost the championship to MLK (the semi in our bracket was the championship IMHO). #nopointsfor2ndplace

    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
