Tournament of TSSAA Champions (Idea)

Just a random thought.....

 

Example: Riverdale, Brentwood Academy (or Northport), South Greene, and East Nashville to play in a four team bracket formation to begin the season on a Saturday.

 

It will be pretty awesome if someone held a tournament of all the recent TSSAA state champs throughout the state. They never will see each other throughout the season... So why not have a few good quality - measuring stick basketball games to kick off the new season....

East Nashville played Riverdale in a HOF game. They also scrimmaged BA about two weeks before the season started.

Like Workinprogress said... Riverdale beat East by 17 in Nov and they beat BA by over 20 in the summer. They also beat East in the summer pretty bad.

The biggest difference to me when you move up in classes is depth. It would be hard for a A or AA team to compete against a team that is 8-10 players strong like Riverdale and the other top AAA teams.

Preseason games are pretty much dress rehearsals. Sure they are fun and they give you at least an idea of how you are early but in the larger picture it only matters what you do late in the season. Most would have picked Blackman in AAA but Riverdale showed up at the right time. In AA everyone had Elizabethton or Westview but East Nashville spoiled their plans.
