Hardin Valley and Farragut---Again!

Who knew it would be so hard to get out of district 4AAA?  Farragut outlasted Maryville in an elimination game to advance.  They survived.  Now, let's see if the momentum can carry them to another district championship.  Either way, the two favorites are once again moving on Region.  Good luck.  East Tennessee is looking good.

Looks like Hardin Valley has Farragut's number. They would be the only team in Tennessee that does.

HV and fairgut are two good teams. I thought Bearden would be there but they had to use more pitching early on than the others. Powell has an outstanding pitcher and the Beavers are a very quality team. Should be two good games Monday.

Two great games indeed! Pacifico throws a two-hitter for Farragut in their 3-0 win over Karns. Not to be outdone, Alford strikes out 15 and throws over 120 pitches in a 2-1 (9-inning complete game) win over Hardin Valley.

Alford is the real deal.  Great kid.  Hope he continues to get the attention he deserves.  Farragut is getting hot at the right time.  It will be awesome if these two teams can continue to state.

Farragut is definitely getting hot, and I hope to see both make it to state. Powell is playing with house money at this point, so to speak. Farragut will definitely be favored in the game on Wednesday. Alford will probably pitch again in the sectional game on Friday against either Mo East or Sevier County.

How good is this arm from Sevier County? Can he go into Farragut and win on Friday night?

Have not seen him play; however, as is the way with a lot of pitchers who throw heat--it depends on his control.  If he is in control, it will be difficult.  Farragut is patient at the plate, tho.  They know how to wait for the mistakes.  Plus, they are very experienced with good pitchers.  They probably see more than most because the coach seeks out the opportunities to play a difficult schedule.  Morristown East has had a successful year--wonder how they stack up?

Crazy finish between Powell and Farragut last night. Very surprising to see Powell have that kind of success against a team like Farragut, especially without Alford pitching. Kudos to the Admirals for the incredible comeback in the 7th.
