Playerscoach
1.). St. George's 2.). Harding Academy 3.). Webb Thoughts! Webb? Not sure about them. BGA, FCS, DCA, FRA and DA all are reloading though and have question marks. FCA losing their QB will have a bigger challenge to replace him and be a contender than the others. They still have talent though. Webb is always good so it will be interesting to see what happens and the young TB is impressive from what I hear. DCA will give the ball to #6 a ton and he is as dynamic as any player in Div IIA not named Hayden. DA has one of the top OL in country but what else around him? I dont know enough about them? Its wide open for two of the final four spots IMO. Edited July 5, 2016 by Playerscoach
warhawk
IMO the top 5 for this season will be West heavy. Webb always in the top 5 in this group and then USJ, St. Georges, ECS, and Lausanne. SG plays Lausanne on 9-2 and ECS on 9-9 so after those 2 games the picture will be a little more clear. USJ is gonna score a lot of points this year. SG will rely heavily on one player for offense which can hurt in the long run, ECS and their platoon system will help them in the 4th quarter. USJ needs to find a Quarterback that can be productive. Obviously they have a coach that'll help out. But the Bruins are losing Reid, Underwood, Hawks, and a pretty good supporting cast. I won't be surprised if this is a "down year" for USJ.
DowntownCharlie
I agree on the quarterback because Underwood was really good at scrambling and making something happen. I think we have some potential there albeit unproven. The receivers were good last year and catching and blocking, but also played alot on defense (Hawks, Jones, etc). This year the receivers will have to step it up, but I think they can. Good athletes. Bodiford was good at RB and cornerback/LB so he will be missed as well. However, lots of athletes that can step in and I think many more kids will rotate in than in years past. Lots of excitement and anticipation under the new coach. Kids really seem to like him. Spartan4Life
Look for Webb to be back in the State Championship this year. SPEED SPEED SPEED. Coach Meske called this Webb team the fastest he has ever had. That is saying a mouthful for those of you who remember Aaron Blance, Caleb Blance, Matthew Melton, and Todd Kelly Jr. Webb also returns 16 Starters. Webb showed it last night by embarrassing 5A Farragut in the jamboree 21-7. The lone 7 for Farragut came against Webbs 2's. State Championship Prediction: Webb and St Georges meet for the 3rd time. Playerscoach
DCA's #6 set a school rushing record last night aginst FRA and ran for 375 yards. He also returned the opening kickofff 87 yards for a TD. FRA is a very big, fast, athletic, and well coached team so that performance is remarkable. Div 2A might be a little more interesting if #6 can keep producing 250 yard per night performances. Webb is a joke and everyone knows it. Basically has played down for years for 'state championships'. Finally the TSSAA is making them move into an appropriate division based on school size by making three divisions next year. Last year Webb couldn't even win its district against squads half their size. My prediction is next year even though BA and Ensworth can play in the AA level, they will play up to AAA. Webb will stay at AA because they just can't compete. Wouldn't surprise me if Webb puts in a special request to play down to 'A' next year to adjust to the new schedule. DCA (enrollment: 218) beat you last year, Webb (enrollment: 471). The Gold ball goes through Memphis this year. Win your district before you talk about playing in the State Championship. Sounds like someone has gotten their brains beat in one too many times by those Spartans. I'm sorry that historically Webb has had a first class program and knows how to put together winning teams. That being said Webb had 30 players on their team last year with four seniors. It's not the amount of kids in the school it's the amount of players on the football team especially when dealing with privates. I'm quite sure every team Webb played in division last year had at least the same amount. If you really can't see that a BA or Ensworth would beat the best 6A schools in the state (even with 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x) the enrollment then you just don't understand how this works. Poor guy. I would spend more time educating you about each ignorant statement you made but it's Labor Day and I'm not in the mood to labor. That being said, Webb wins state this year (in the division they were placed by the TSSAA) baring injuries. Good luck to your undisclosed team. Lol I'm sorry Webb upsets a grown man so much even over Labor Day weekend.

They have proven it on the field year after year. Why should they play up? They are where they're supposed to be. I feel like a broken record saying this, but most years Webb is not the most talented team in DII-A. The top teams out West are dressing 60-70 players and often have as many if not more D1 recruits as Webb. Don't be surprised if the representative from the West is a school you've (possibly) never heard of: Lausanne. In their first two games this year they mercy ruled a 6A playoff team and then beat St. George's by 30.

I knew st George's got killed by someone. So that will be the team for everyone to beat then. I'll follow them more closely throughout the season. If the bet is Webb or the field this year I would take the field. Webb should always be in the hunt with their enrollment, talent, and ability to attract D1 prospects though.
