Region 4-4a

Recommended Posts

Not sure I agree with Murphy Fairs predictions. I know the coaches vote but come on. Giles #2, Page #3....really??? Giles cheating ways will make them improved but #2 and Page lost everyone and was not very athletic to begin with. I can see Marshall but the rest I can't. Coach E is gonna have my boys ready!!!!

Really curious to see O'Connor round 2 at Giles. Giles and Marshall County have similar athletes on a year to year basis, and Osteen stepped in and won right away so I could see something similar with Giles. Not sure what Giles has coming back, but I'm sure it's more than enough for O'Connor to work with.

1. Marshall - not even close; no one in the region will be within 2 touchdowns

2. Spring Hill - new staff and energy

3. Giles - no one works harder in the off season than Coach Conner; could be #2

TIE AT # 4

4. Lawrence Co - hard working team and coaches

4. Page - lost all skill players but they have done a good job recruiting; line play should be good

4. Tullahoma - will be better but needs more time

Looking forward to the season; best of luck to all teams and stay healthy!!!!!!

Don't sleep on those Tullahoma Wildcats. A huge freshman class that played a lot of varsity football last year in now a year older and wiser. Many will play significant minutes as sophomores. The junior and senior classes are not large in numbers but there are some very talented players.

The key to the Wildcats' season is their early non-region games against their biggest rivals. Coffee Co., Franklin Co. and Shelbyville all come to Wilkins Stadium in the first month. If Tullahoma can win one or two or three of those it should help the confidence of this young squad and they will make the playoffs. If they can't get a win in that first month then it could be another long season.

I agree with you on that post.

I would have to agree as well. With OConnor practicing them boys year round in that indoor facility and Marshal pulling those recruits from the South I worry bout them. I do think my Raiders will make a push and the only team with enough athletes to challenge the Tigers. Page will tumble. I saw them in Spring and they looked really bad. Read in another post that their D looks like Swiss cheese in 7-7's. Tullahomians are already making the young excuse which may be true but to use that 5 weeks before the season says a lot. Lawrenceburg could be a sleeper but not sure they have the athletes to compete and in this district I don't think any team is going to be out coached by another. Lot of good coaches in district 4

I talked to an old fisherman that knows his fishing and he says the Tullahoma Wildcats are looking pretty good in the 7 on 7 passing tournaments.

Best of luck to Coach Olive and the Wildcats; I hope they get back to winning.

Rumors are flying that the Patriots maybe getting too big for 4 A football; the school is growing and the recruiting is paying off in the number of kids out for football. I also hear that they are trying to settle in on a QB but the new kid from Summit may have to sit out a year.

Spring Hill ( as Forrest Gump would say) is like a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get. They could content for 2nd or might be at the bottom of the Region.

Hopefully We will get more consistent with a new face on the sidelines.

Hard to imagine Tulla being that much improved.

Page I think they will score some points offensively but Defensive wise could be a problem.

Giles well you know my thoughts on them and MC.

    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
