Adamsville invades the Lions Den TCA

TCA took some lumps last week. They are rebuilding.

TCA is still well coached. Their players are always in position and play with good technique.

In the USJ game, TCA had defenders in the right places. USJ players made plays. There were no gimmes.

TCA has speed. They have at least three backs who can make plays on their own.

USJ has the best linemen in the country. He will be in every team's backfield every game this season. That makes it tough to execute any offense.

TCA doesn't have an identity on offense yet. But Coach Butler is the best high school coach I've seen at adapting his attack on the fly to his roster's strengths.

It's probably a 5-5 type year for TCA. But I fully expect TCA to pull off at least one upset before this season is over.

Will that be against Adamsville? Tough to say as I don't know what they have this year. But TCA will play and coach hard.

10 weeks is a long time for high schoolers -- over 1% of their lifespan. A lot can change in that time ;) Don't write the season off yet, TCA fans!

Very good unbiased post. Thank you. We haven't written them off by no means. Adamsville is just a hard one to talk confidently about when you don't have an identity yet. Hey, you never know what could happen. Union City fumbled 9 times against McKenzie three years ago and lost. They played again in the playoffs and beat McKenzie soundly but they weren't supposed to lose the first time. Will Aville fumble 9 times? Not likely but it high school kids so anything can happen. There will be a huge crowd because Avill travels better than anyone. Heck, they all want to come and eat in the big city! We all think the food is actually better in the small towns! The atmosphere will be electric so I look forward to seeing my old friends! Edited by TCAIntense

Not much to talk about. Or we could do like you guys did last year. We already seen the best running back we will see all year. Sound familiar ? Not smart to say stuff like that. So we will be waiting for y'all and see who can win a slugfest. May the best haymaker win

This has got to be the most boring thread ever.

Well, it was going to be a tough game as it was but now we are down 2 players from the USJ game and have no depth. Just hard to banter when you have a skeleton crew. Last year we had 5 super athletic seniors with great support and some depth. We are lacking Seniors and depth. We have good players but not enough. I just left the track after running a few and made sure I turned the water hoses wide open!! Maybe that will help!

    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
