More than a coaching problem if thats going on. That county is more divided today than its ever been. The sports teams and coaches are criticized non stop and rarely see any support. Kids pick up on that after a while.

If the parents and the community would get behind these coaches and players they might be able to get better.  When someone gets their feelings hurt they want transfer their kids some where else.  Vic is not going to pat them on the butt and praise them all the time.  Time for parents to grow up and let coaches coach.

Not sure why everyone got their panties in a bunch. The one that's already gone has never played a day of organized football. The other one rumored to be leaving is hurt. Don't see this hurting GC and in no way helping SP.

What's funny is the one that is "supposedly" hurt is the same one whose parents begged the entire school board to have coach Tate be the HC..not only that but they also sent that boy to multiple lineman camps..not only is this a big stab in the back and but it's also disrespectful..we have 37 players now..the athletic director really needs to get in touch with the TSAA because several violations are happening in south Pitt..I really wish Tracy city would open its own high school and just be done with the north end of the county

We could go on for days about for what parents have don't to this and former coach. Not going to argue with you there. Facts are things look bleak at GC. So some are looking else were. Can't blame them for that. But there no way SP recruited these two. Ones hurt and the other will never last. SP doesn't need them. The question is are they eligible this season. Don't see how they could be. But that is up to TSSAA.

I don't have HS aged kids but I do have grandkids coming up and I deeply concerned about my former school and where it is headed.

Having coached at a HS level I can tell you this if this program is going to survive with Casey as HC they need to hire some real Assistant Coach and lose the hang around coaches.

Yeah I know that but that's not always the case with TSSAA. I've seen kids in Nashville area ruled ineligible. Wihile SP QB played baseball at GC and never changed residents and was ruled eligible. That's a head scratcher.

I'll give you two shining example of what Tssaa does. When I was coaching we had a kid that played in 1JV basketball game before halftime he blows his knee out. He transfer to our school wants to play football. We applied for eligibility for him DENIED. Filled hardship due to his injury with letter from the old schools principle explaining what happened. DENIED.

We had a girls soccer player transfer, legally changed resistance. Moved to our county. TSSAA DENIED. Said she didn't move far enough away from her old school. Even thought they moved into county our school was in. Parent found house half way between.

So what my point is it's all about who's representing you at TSSAA and influence they possess.

Yes you can blame them. You stay with your school through good and bad. They are not pro athletes, very few have college football ability. You dont run to a rival school period. If you do, you got deeper issues that were the real reason you were not getting the success you wanted, but hey blaming other people and taking easy way out seems to be the norm on the mountain. Assistant that are good help im sure would be appreciated, Id also say a little community support wouldnt hurt either. If that county cant get along then they need to divorce and both ends be better off and not keeping each other down.

Well the one kid mentioned that left is real real real head scratcher. Like said above his parents really push for Tate a few years back. In my opinion he'll be back at Grundy before its all said and done (just one of those type families). I just hope a few of the young assistant coaches at Grundy will realize some things before they make career suicide.
