Just for fun... Whats the score between this team and the 2011 team that went to state if they played each other?? I think this years team wins 35-27. Hatchel vs his cousin Winn.

 

 

The 2011 team didn't have near the talent & most of the players had to play both sides of the ball but they we're a special group. They simply refused to lose. This year's team is loaded with talent in every position & expect to win. I used to think that would hurt them in the long run but after losing early in the playoffs last year, this group has also shown that same grit & determination.

The fight between this team and 2011's team would be phenomenal. Two physical teams going at it. 2011 team had a great group of seniors. 2-3 All State players. I wouldn't knock the talent of that class. (I know they're not as talented as this years team) Mcpeak, Van Dyke, kanehl, Hatchel, Ellis, Ellison, Raymer. That team was all heart. Id take this years team by 2 scores if they could handle the physicality of Chad Hodge's defense.

5 All state players on that team. Dont forget Josh Turnbow, he was a monster. Something that makes that team even more impressive was I know you had 3-4 sophomores and 1 freshmen that started and played every down that year. That was a nasty hard hitting defense.

I think this team would have a hard time blocking Ellis, Ellison, mcpeak, and van Dyke. You can't double team everyone. But Dresser would likely be able to out run them. Then again, that team contained Westwood and Humboldt.

I really think Ellison was one of the most underrated players on that team. I didn't realize how good he actually was until he graduated. We just didn't have the same push on D the following year without him. Doubt Dresser could outrun VanDyke but it would be fun to see. They were very good at containing the opponents offense because they really didn't have crazy speed. Kanehl and Swafford were probably the fastest players on that team. Other than that they really weren't that fast.  Who is the fastest player this year? Williams or A Tom I would assume?

Not sure, only been to 3 games this year cause I'm living in Louisville. I don't think the 11 team could stop the passing attack this year. I do think our dbs were better in 2011 than most they've faced this yr

Yeah, you hear stuff like that all the time with these Memphis teams. I'd never send money. Why risk injuries or potentially even losing when you can take the forfeit and advance to the next round? Sure, you might not be as sharp after a bye week, but you'll be rested and healthy and don't have to worry about injuries or your season ending. This is just how I see it. I'm not sure about this team, but Memphis teams have a reputation for being undisciplined and playing dirty. Let's hope this is a clean game Friday.

Not the thoughts of all Dresden fans. Few years back we played Mitchell and heard the same stuff. After the game I asked my son about it and he said the players were all good guys. He was pretty nervous hearing all the other junk before the game.
