D2 should not even award a State Champion, just a division championship. Give em all a participation trophy. AA bracket is basically empty, byes for everyone. Why even use a bracket, if you''re not gonna fill it out. smh

dude just shut up 😂 Your must be a private school hater haha.. the reason there is bye weeks in D2AA is there aren't a lot of schools smart one and you actually think Briarcrest has a chance of winning state hahahahaha

Sad part is there are 3 or 4 teams in this division who have a legit shot and would be favored to win state in 6A 5A 4A 3A 2A and 1A. Best teams in the state buddy. The best competition.

 

The fact you picked those two teams to win shows how ignorant you really are on Big Boy Football.

Very true IMO. No other division in TN has as much overall talent and level of players as D2AA. To say little competition is disrespectful and the bottom half of the division could easily win 1A-3A and the top portion could easily win 4A-6A.

Are the Tennessee state championships watered down? Yes.  Will they be even more watered down next year?  Yes.     TSSAA state championships in football are designed a--to make more money and b-- to provide another week or two of football for the players, parents, cheerleaders and fans for the schools.    It serves a purpose because this is the greatest game and it ends far too soon for all those involved.  Its the one sport that you cant play after your career is over....   IMO,  at the end of the regular season only 4 schools in each division have a legit shot at winning it all. But its the 'ride' that we as spectators should all enjoy and not be concerned with how the system is set up.   Cheer loudly tonight regardless of your teams record and chances and enjoy watching them play and battle through adversity.  To watch a player and his team compete at 100% even though most say they shouldn't even be there is a great trait to instill in our youth.  Lord knows they need that life lesson.     For that reason I am glad they are watered down.

I have said this before: Is Ali a greater champion than Leonard? Both are great. Just different sizes.

 

As to football, consider almost 50% of the top 10 in the power ratings are privates. 30% in the next 10. If the privates weren't significant there while all the discussion about different divisions? Too bad there can't be a postseason to see who reigns champion over all. Unfortunately, my favorite team wouldn't stand a chance unless there was and 11 on 11 for 48 minutes. Then it would be interesting!

And yes I am bias. Mia culpa.

      I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.

      I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!

      Looks like Trent Noah was released from his NLI at South Carolina with intent to pursue playing closer to home. Kentucky and Louisville both reported to be in the mix for him now.
