Hawktime,

The only reason for my post was this, the author of the article was Mike Robinson.  Mike works for 5 Star Radio which owns the rights to ESPN, Clarksville.  I listen to 104.1 while driving and in fact listening to it right now in our coaches office (we are on a 2 hour weather delay, usually not on this early in the am.)  I have never heard or read any article by Mike except a commercial for potential employee's.  Mike's son is an excellent football player that played QB for CA and Coach Hood the past 2 years.hat alone is the oddity I was speaking of.

Rustyporter asked if Bryce will go to Rossview now.  New rule prevents a player from doing this.  Todd Hood is an excellent football coach and I wish him success in 9 of his 10 games in 2017.

I'm certain that CA will hire a top-notch coach and hire one quickly. Word is there is a lot of interest in the program,  and what a great opportunity for someone to build on the foundation that coach Shephard started and coach Hood built on,  and extend it into D2.  CA has great football facilities and a game day atmosphere second to none in Montgomery County and they will attract quality candidates.   I doubt they will publish a short list, however.   On another note, Mike Robinson writes articles for clarksvillenow frequently on high school football and other topics.  Thanks to Mike, Jimmy, and George for giving the community articles on our LOCAL sports scene.  Here are a few links to some of Mike's football articles:

If i'm not mistaken, doesn't he host a high school football show also?

I've heard the QB is a good player, just through my son and other kids. Too bad. That's the only position we are lacking at.

Shep,

Have it out, and reviewing now.  Actually more names popping up due to the high interest.  Going to be a interesting week or two.  I too wish Coach Hood the very best in his future endeavors at Rossview.  He is a great coach and a better man.  My friends, and even some family, are getting a top notch person.  But as that relates to CA, when one door closes, another one opens.  Future is very bright at CA.  By the way, I would be remiss if I did not thank you Sheppy for being one of the ones who gave me the opportunity to get into coaching.  Speak with you soon.

Some phone interviews have taken place.  Have not heard what will happen beyond that other than hearing they want a coach in place by May 24..........which is last day for students in CMCSS.  I say this with no reliable Source of Information.  Just Coach speak.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
