It was a convincing win, but to help Eaglepride out. That 2008 team was one of the best and most talented teams in Rhea history. Rhea was suppose to beat Cleveland that year for the region championship. Rhea came out and laid an egg that night. I remember it well it was raining the whole time and we played absolutely sloppy that game. It was our 2 loss on a team that went 8-2 and eventually like most teams got put out by Maryville in the quarterfinals in a great football game. That a lot of Maryville folks still stop and talk about when they see me in my Rhea County gear. 

I also remember WV beating Cleveland the next Friday handing Rhea the region championship

Yes those next few years (09, 10, 11, and 12) were down years for us. Even though that 2012 team that went 2-8 did beat Cleveland. Then in 13 you guys put us out of the playoffs at home in another convincing win.

Biggest victory over y'all in a generation? Maybe by score, but we knocked you guys out off the playoffs in 2013 pretty easily

How will Rhea adjust to losing their all-time leading rusher in Cody Bice? Can Cleveland's O-line finally block for their speedy backfield corps? Just some questions to ask before the big game.

That Rhea Co team was senior heavy but had sophomore Cameron Tallent at QB and IMO was the best team of the Fitzgerald era.

I don't know that I would call 2008 game a "fluke" but it was definitely a head scratcher. I don't know why but the simple fact is that with a few exceptions over the years, Rhea just doesn't play well over at Cleveland and they definitely laid an egg that night because that game wasn't as close as the 41-7 score. Even last year against a banged up Raider squad Rhea was lucky to get out with the W.

And yes that was Danny Wilson's last year at Cleveland., Slaughter was at Soddy Daisy.
