The Perry County Vikings are bringing back 6 starters on offense and 6 starters on offense to the 2017 team. The Richland Raiders bring back 3 on offense and 4 on defense. The Vikings are coming off a (2-8) season but have a lot of optimism coming into the season with QB Jeffrey Martin (SR), RB Trestan Vaughan (JR), and LB Cannon Daniel (SR) back for the Vikings. The Raiders are coming off a (1-9) season where it saw them win the opening game but unfortunately losing the last 9 games of the season. From the way the scrimmages went for both teams, the Vikings have a better overall team. They have a good dual-threat QB in Martin who rushed for over 800 yards and threw for 500. An up and coming RB in Vaughan who had a great Sophomore campaign, and a LB in Daniel who had 110 tackles last season. Can't wait to see how this game goes! The game will be broadcast on 101.3 WOPC and on wopcradio.com. My Pick: Vikings- 40  Raiders- 18.

I used to live in Perry Co., back when they didn't have football. My cousins have played so I've always kept up with the program. Good luck and stay healthy!

Don't think you will here anything out of the Raider fans. I've looked around on the T and it is quiet everywhere. Maybe several folks are just shocked that it's that special time year again. Can't listen to the game but I'll be keeping up with y'all. Represent Region 6! Good luck to y'all!

I do believe it will be closer than 40-18.  The Raiders have struggled in key areas and need to step their game up in order to compete.  Excuses are worth nothing, but the raiders have 3 freshmen in starting positions and 5 sophomores.  I hope to see improvement at least.

Both teams played a hard fought game. I don't think the world was prepared for the progress the Richland Raiders have made. Excited to see where their season goes after the way they showed out tonight.

Congrats on the win, I knew they would be eating crow after seeing their predictions. I thought they had a chance to win but knew they hadn't improved enough to blow anybody out
