jimbo44
Anyone know the schedule?
ChineseFlu
IMHO both teams that win out of this district will lose to district 7. District 8 was very weak this year.

However, it has been a straight Slug Fest this year with these top 4 teams. Even when they play tourneys with pitching...all these teams can hit. No doubt other teams will hit on whomever makes it out of 8AA...It will come down to if they hit like they can and makes the least errors. repoman
It' alot easier when a team has a dominant pitcher, don't have to play defense, coaches don't have to strategize etc.etc. I will say that 8aa has some great offensive weapons (as good as ever)and they can hit the best of pitching any of the top 4 teams are far from weak.

jimbo44
DeKalb won the tourney. Upperman second. Looks like DeKalb will play Marion Co. Upperman plays Sequatchie in the R4AA tourney. Where do they play, and when? Edited May 11, 2018 by jimbo44
Indian
DeKalb (15-5 over Marion) at Sequatchie (7-3 over Upperman) Wednesday at 6. Meigs and Sweetwater won in the opposite region.

Indian
DeKalb 4-1 over Sequatchie. Hits were nearly equal but DC made the most of theirs, including some infield hits. They overcame 12 strikeouts, 7 in the first three innings. Meigs big over Sweetwater. Sweetwater at DeKalb, Sequatchie at Meigs. Regardless of the outcome it has been a good building season for Sequatchie with a lot of first-year starters. Four freshmen and two sophomores in the batting line-up this week, and next year will get back a player who started every game at shortstop last season as freshman, hit in the .450+ range (out with injury). Another good, quick player went out with an injury late, will have 2 more years, was batting well in a part-time role. Both pitchers return, in 10th and 9th this year. They have another good 9th grade group coming up, will push for playing time/starting spots. (Yes, an 8-AA topic, but since the districts are locked in to each other in the postseason figured would just post here).
