FORREST @ SUMMERTOWN

This was an ugly game.

A short rain burst before kickoff lead to a slippery sloppy field.

I agree about hard hitting but Forrest had about a 300-10 advantage in total offensive yards at halftime and only a 7-0 lead due to turnovers.

Forrest's first drive to start the second half was a horrific "3 and out" that merits someone not getting a paycheck this week. All of halftime and you come out with that? It was so uncomfortable to watch.

The game itself was maddening to watch. Forrest completely lost confidence, like they have the last two seasons as soon as something didn't go their way. They are now officially a fast starting, "take our first punch, hit us back, and we will wilt," team, and all are to blame.

Forrest fans also lost their cool. Not a good showing for anyone cheering for the Rockets.

But a win is a win.

Summertown is not equipped to host football. The field is at a diff location than the school, and necessitates driving several hundred yards thru neck high grass to park. No exaggeration. There are no visitor stands, and the field, upon approaching, looks to be lop sided. They should play their home games at a suitable site. A vacant lot in 1990s Baghdad would be a a better option.

#6 had a #6 game for the first time this season. He needs to be fed often or he seems to emotionally float away. I don't blame him honestly. He's by far the best back, most experienced, most consistent, etc. There are other very strong backs but #6 is the best. It's in his blood. Give him the darn ball 20 times a game minimum. Every game.  It's a travesty that he's been this underused this season so far.

I'll sound like my Rocket Blue Blood is doing the talking here, but I think Forrest can win next week. They will have to play their best game since 2016 Watertown. But it can be done. They have moved the ball all season. They just haven't finished drives. The D has given up a few big plays, but has been very stingy overall.  21 points total in the last 3 games. Even including BGA they are averaging giving up around 2 TDs a game.

This team hung with CA last year and had a 6-0 lead in the 4th, and had a "roughing the passer" negate a pick 6 that would have made it 13-0.  Forrest can absolutely beat CA.

I just hope we don't have to visit Summertown again fora long time.

Dang General you must be a short little feller! Grass is far from neck high on an average football fan.
