So you guys think McMinn is going to be really good because they beat a 3A team in a scrimmage? Lol.

Not what I was saying.  I was just meaning if they dominated a #4 preseason picked team, they should be pretty good.  Didn't say great.  An pretty good 6-A team should be able to stay close with a top 3-A team.  According to this particular scrimmage they dominated.  Based on past scrimmages, it was just kinda interesting.  I see McMinn being 3, 4, or maybe 5 in their region.  Seems they need to sure up their secondary, but I really have no clue.

Boog, looking like your Irish may be pretty competitive this year.

the Irish should b up for another decent season logcabinman.....would like to think that the Irishmen can stay on trac with Fant's avg of 10 win/season since his arrival at the helm of his 1st HC gig back in 2012......but that could b a little bit taller for ND this year...

...numbers r down, so we cant afford even 1 injury if we r get another 10 wins......especially in the trenches.....tho we r once again no joke down in those trenches.....as if weve really had numbers that would ever allow any injurys.....Ooldewa had some huge young men rotatin in and out on the line the other night and the Irish dirt baggers handled them fairly well....if that is a sign of decent things to come

......we lost some serious bruisers and speed in the backfield....hopefully not as damaging as it would b if we were runnin sumthin other than Jags Single Wing......Fant once again had to replace both Coordinators....tho the new OC and DC appear to b adjustin and fittin in well

....travlin the 2nd week up to KY to take on one of the Bluegrass states powerhouse juggernauts Redhounds of Corbin and bein visited by the 6A Cherokees of Athens dont increase the Irish chances of a 10 win season either.....then expect CAK to b much improved....they r probably the team outta Knoxville in our division to beat.....specially since Baylor recruited the Haslam Schools speedster down to the suk creek campus....and of course Bradley will have that air raid attack of his in full implimentaion mode up there on that snake wranglin campus of GCA and not sure how well we can defend the pass yet

...we shall see....hopin them boys of yours r well...

Yes sir, Luke's career has come to an end at UTC.  Had a great run and enjoyed playing for Huessman.  Wasn't a big fan of the coaching change so he forwent the season last year and graduated early.  Hate it cause he loved Wright and he loved my son, wish he could have played for him.  Anyways, he has started the new chapter of the great institution of marriage living and settling in Chatt town.  Youngest boy graduated and moved to Chatt. so my 8 year run is over.  Gonna miss it, but I feel these Chargers will see some improvement this year.  Good luck to the Irish as well.

I can say this .... Red Bank had about 6 starters out that game when they played McMinn Co. They didn't even come back to play til the Soddy game.  They kept them out of all Scrimmages and the Jamboree. So you can't really say you seen them really play with a full team. I'm sure Soddy felt those starters back in the game though.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
