My question is: are both offenses that good, or are the defenses a little lacking? I suppose that we will find out as the season progresses. I would say it is a mixture of both. They still have quiet a bit of work to do on defense and need to clean up some of the dumb penalties but other than that the offense and special teams are looking pretty good. Sophomore quarterback threw for 402 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 66 yards and two scores last night. Junior running back rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns, plus he caught two passes for 44 yards, and he ran back a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. Senior wide receiver had eight catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns. The sophomore kicker was solid as well. Then a freshman defensive back had the interception to seal the win. Will be interesting to see how they improve from here on out and how they handle the more athlete defenses. I sure would have thought Simpson ran for more than 66 yards last night. That’s unofficial stats from the local paper. Not sure what the official yardage was. concernedbobcat
Wow. Simpson ran all over the field. Seems like he had 200 under his feet.
concernedbobcat
First thing McNairy needs to do is take a week off from Offense. Hire someone in and teach the kids how to TACKLE. Arm tackles and shoulder bumps will not do the job. If a player will not put a hard shoulder and wrap up then sit them on the bench or have them bring water to the ones who will!!!
