I am remembering Sweetwater or Oliver Springs in 1999?

I think it was Loudon in 99.

I may post this as another topic but if I did the math correctly, Alcoa is 79-0 in the playoffs against public schools this millennium.

To put it prospective, the Tornadoes last loss to a Public school in the playoffs was During President Clinton ( The real one, not the one that thought she was going to be) administration.

Turtle is correct that the Webb game was indeed a defensive battle. It was a very ugly game. Neither offense could get much going. There were a lot of penalties on both teams. The only TD was scored by A-E and it was called back on a penalty.

I don't know what happened with us last week, BUT we will be alright! Go Roadrunners!!!

AE simply got beat by a much much better team....That’s exactly what happened...:thumb:

We got beat by a much better team last Friday but the Webb game was a defensive battle and Webb got a field goal to win .  I wouldn’t necessarily say “Better” team

We better clean up alot of stuff this week to have any chance.we also need to be more creative with play calling.losing our best player in the spring hurt us badly.a few player's to keep a eye on..#13.#19. Those are our  two big play guys.and big #72 playing DT hes pretty solid. But after what I have seen so far out of two games I believe A-E wins by 2tds..

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
