TomcatFan 2011, I’m not sure, but I think we know each other.  I’m “assessing” the situation!

I'm worried about our injury situation.

It's a non-region game, and It's the Friday before fall break.  That can be a deadly combination for the Cats.  It has been in the past.

The SG fans can be intimidating.  They're loud and it almost seems that they are on the field. It's definitely a 12th man situation.

We've got to be fired up, watch the penalties and turnovers, and stay the course.

I'll have to watch the video stream since I can't be there, but I hope you can go and give them an extra push.

I made a mistake.  The Friday of the SG game is not the Friday before fall break.  The Friday before fall break is Oct.4 (the day Haywood hosts region rival Ripley).  Win or lose, we might be wishing it was fall break by the time the game is over, but at least that won't be a factor.

The crowd won’t be That big of an issue, if we can block out Henry Co. crowd like we did two years ago, i think we’ll be fine.

I assume you are talking about last year's game.  The one that Haywood lost 29-26 in the last minute of the game.  Haywood had a total melt down during Henry County's winning TD drive.  How many yards did the Cats give up in penalties during that drive?  I would say their crowd was a huge influence in firing the Patriots up and and intimidating the Tomcats on that drive alone, but I could be wrong.

I haven't seen any of South Gibson this year, but I know they are playing some good ball right now. Haywood has pretty much been lights out all year other than that trip out of the state. Can South Gibson really compete with Haywood? I'll take Haywood by 28 in this one!

I hope you're right, but I wouldn't bet the farm on that.

Yeah that exact game. And that was also game one. We haven’t been plaguing ourselves on penalties as much as years past. Coach smith will have the guys ready. We have a young team true but everyone has seen time playing. That young term is out the door now they have games under their belts

Will be a good one. We were down to our 3rd tailback Friday night. Don’t know the status of our two main backs. So it’ll be interesting. Haywood’s young but growing up fast. Excited about this one. Which ever team has the best conditioning will win this game.

Well if that is the case I really like SGC's chances.

To answer your question, yes SGC can compete with Haywood.

Is Haywood favored in the contest? Yes.

Can Haywood get upset on the road by a senior led football team? Yes.

I think game will be within 2 scores. Haywood favored.

You guys are going to have a good size advantage up front.

SGC will have to play really well and not give the cats any freebies.

Question for you. Does Haywood normally bring a good crowd?

Really looking forward to it.

    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
    • Looks like Trent Noah was released from his NLI at South Carolina with intent to pursue playing closer to home. Kentucky and Louisville both reported to be in the mix for him now.
