Im ready for it I tell ya. It's definitely time to bring out the warm clothes. Doubt we see another 60° kickoff

The warm weather is gone until maybe April or so. We got a taste of the cool weather Thursday night and it was great!

You don't need to answer this but which team in Region 1/2 is Meigs' biggest challenge??

Hampton seems to be region 1's best team right now. Even though if Happy Valley upsets South Greene Happy Valley will be the #1 seed I believe. That region is hard to break down. Oneida is our regions 2nd best team. If they had a slightly better offense they would win most regions I believe. They will be a hard out for anyone. As far as challenge goes I don't know. I've not seen region 1 teams play, but comparatively speaking on stats, scores, and chatter that's how i see region 1. Oneidas scores in the playoff will tell alot. Any team scores more than 14 on Oneida is more than likely a very good team and will be a threat. Anyhow that's how I see it.

Hoping for good weather Friday night. Hopefully get Meadows some good yards and throw it around a little. Would be nice to establish a little passing game before playoffs. Rain probably hurt Friday but hope we open it up a little early in the game and maybe on earlier downs.  I’m sure they’ll be ready but just my 2 cents. Anyone having dinner before this game?  I like to support if I can

Final regular season game approaches. The last time we played Wartburg at home on senior night it was a 52-0 at halftime and final I believe was 60-8 in our first undefeated season in quite sometime the way I understand it. I believe this game will be about the same as far as score goes. I expect alot of younger players getting touches.

Passing is what I'd like to see at this point as well. We've had injuries that have hindered us in that area and has weakened us as a team when we really needed it. First of the year we were one of the better passing teams in 2A I'm sure, and I expect that to continue if we can get healthy. Our bread and butter is still the run, but I like mixing it up.

On a side note I read somewhere we are nearing 3000 rushing yards on the season as a whole. I'm pretty sure that's a pretty good mark never compared it to our previous seasons as I didn't know the stats.

With a win on Friday, the Tigers will have a regular season record of 38-2 over the last 4 seasons (16-19). I know Oakland is 39-1 over that span, but are they the only school with a better record? Regardless, this is a big accomplishment that these players can be very proud of.

Would you argue that they are the best team in Meigs History?

Best team or best class? Hard to say either way. By the numbers, though, they would be the most successful. Don't have the marquee wins like the teams from the early 90's had. If they play a game in December, it's a much tougher argument.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
