So I guess only “high schools” from Memphis can win state championship

Schedule, and how you perform against like teams isn't a fool proof predictor, but it is something that gives you an inclination as to how to rank teams.

If this thing is played out, forget BTW, Hampton will have to fight with everything they've got to keep up with Loretto.  Loretto hasn't lost to a single A team all year and have some great games against multiple good AAA teams.

This is pointless to go back and forth since we will not see the tournament played.... However, I am sure Hampton has a quality squad but they do not have even one big time win... Booker T beat a Whitehaven team that was "favored" to win the AAA gold ball and peaked in the national top 40 rankings. Hampton has nothing even close to that on their schedule and since this is a "who would win" we have to resort to who has the best schedule and quality wins...

I too doubt this tournament is played but if it was, Hampton would have their hands full with Loretto...Just like they did at the Arby's Classic vs Tabernacle Baptist from the Bahamas. Wins against top tier programs don't always mean so much in HS sports. I am not a fan of the SOS (Strength of Schedule) and have 1,000 examples as to why...Our trips to the boro in years past are examples as was our football runs as recently at 2016...It's all about match ups not who've you've played.

Records and who you’ve beat don’t mean a hoot.

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what happened.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
