Yes i agree visitors side is too small. That is the only beef I have. Seating capacity of home side is 3500 and visitors is only 1000. But I am very thankful for what we have.  Kids deserve it.

No way. Beautiful stadium but home side holds about 2000 and it was confirmed tonight that visitors side holds 750.

Wsup Vandy.  That game could have been 48-13.  Bad officiating.  Several missed calls.  We are a legit candidate for Cookeville again.  But there is a lot of football to be played.  Coach Jacobs and his coaching staff are second to none.  They are always well prepared.  Milan will be okay.  They just need more time to jell with new system.

this years Milan seniors their Freshmen year.

Wow what a difference 4 years make...………..lol

Peabody is a beast.  Lots of young talent mixed in with veterans

Ganaways, QB, and defense along with defensive and a huge powerful line = another run if we stay healthy.

Your right. You caught me. I obviously lied. I will tell Forcum Lannom (the company that built it) to stop telling the same lie. Also, I will tell the Milan mirror to stop spreading the false information. Thanks for setting me straight. Don’t know what I was thinking.

Milan’s new stadium is awesome.
the team looked better than last year but I still didn’t see the never quit tough mentality you use to see out of the Milan teams. The Milan qb doesn’t like getting hit

the razzle  dazzle offensive shifting got us at first but we adjusted and that was that. Milan  got grinded on and it wore them out.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned the pass  interference on the interception. The Milan dB had our receivers jersey stretched out. He pulled our receiver back then intercepted the ball.

I’m sad I didn’t get to pet bpm’s purple poodle

It’s ok. I left her at home. I decided last minute not to bring you sister to the game.

So my honest thoughts on the game now that I have had some time to digest what I saw.

Trenton- nasty in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Skill position players are young but the talent is there. That line will make them look real good this year. Kids are well coached and the young qb (Driggers) is smart and will make good decisions with the ball. I don’t think anyone in 2A will be able to match your physicality up front. You guys will go a long way.

Milan- In my opinion was much improved over last year.  Last year’s team quit after the first quarter. This year’s team did not. They listen to the coaches and were engaged. Supported each other and obviously had their heads in the right place. Talent is there. Coaching is there. Wins will come.

Games in high school are won in the trenches plain and simple. I know everyone says speed kills. But at this level I will take a tank over a Ferrari any day. Line play trumps speed. That why Alcoa slaughtered Pearl Cohn last year. Once Peabody got a handle on Milan’s speed the game was over. Thanks to all the Tide fans for the kind words. Even the TinSissy (aka Golddoctor). Wish you and your team nothing but the best of luck the rest of the way.

Peabody plays the game of football a lot like Milan used to back in the day under Jeff Morris & Co.  They just lined up in Twins I and ran Zone, Double Dive, Power, and Counter and #7 gashed them as the game wore on.  Early in the 2nd Quarter when Peabody got down on the Goal Line and got out of Twins I and got "cute" with their play calling I was screaming at my computer screen.  They had such a major advantage across the offensive line that they don't need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to running the football.  When they got basic after that they controlled the remainder of the football game.

Milan is too much "all over the place" with what they are trying to do offensively.  They don't need to be so "creative" to try to move the football.  It worked early and had Peabody confused but after the 1st quarter they never got in any type of offensive flow whatsoever.  The gadget stuff works here and there but over the long haul it will get you beat when you play a well coached football team that can adjust over time.

If these teams had gotten a chance to scrimmage this fall and there had been pre-existing film out there on both teams I could very easily have seen a scenario where Milan would not even have scored in all honesty.

Peabody is once again in line to compete for the Class 2A State Championship.  They have a great football team.  Milan has a great football team also and will be a Class 3A Playoff Qualifier.
