It almost seems like Clinton is using these non-region games to work on things like you would in a scrimmage. Hopefully they will continue to get better each week.

45-14 Final from CAK. 

Clinton played 7 freshmen tonight and several sophomores. Coach Keith said after the game "Im not accustomed to losing and I'm not going to become accustomed to losing....so get your licks in now while you can".

Unfortunately Thackerson went out in the 3rd quarter with an injury, but it seemed as if the freshman quarterback Keith sparked the offense.

Keith threw a 44 yard completion before getting picked off a couple of plays later. Keith also had an impressive 68 yard td run for our first score.

Clinton is playing hard and not giving up. I'm proud of the effort and attitudes these young players have. The coaching staff will turn things around. We just need to be patient.

Yeah it really looks like they are going to improve. Hope thackerson is ok but you apparently have a dual QB threat. Utilize it. The defense appeared to step up 1st half. If they can play 1/2 then they have potential to play second half. I like the effort !

I'm glad to see the younger players getting so much playing time. They are the future of this program.  Getting playing experience now will pay off big time in the future.

And they were outscored 86-21 :thumb:

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
