WHO NEEDS A GAME AND WHAT WEEK??

IN a dream scenario - just me thinking out loud with no connection to either program - I wish Rhea County could drop the Marion Co. game in Jasper on Oct. 30th and let South Pittsburg and Marion Co. play on Halloween - what a hoot that would be. Maybe then Rhea Co. could pick up another road game. Rhea Co. pounded Marion last year and it really is a big difference in number of players and classification. Just my two cents.

Powell needs a game on Sept. 25th now.

as does central the next 2 weeks. How does this even work? let’s say they pick up 2 games, that would add to 12 total with the Covid forfeits. and let’s say they win those 2 pick up games on top of the 2 forfeits, is that an 11-1 regular season?

I don't think the covid forfeits these teams receive for region games go toward their overall win total unless they don't replace them.   In other words, if a team receives a Covid win over a region opponent then wins a game against a team they rescheduled then the covid win does not count on their overall record.   The result of the replacement game would go on their overall record.

South Pittsburg now has from Sept 18 to Oct. 9th without a game (between those dates).   They could take a game on Sept. 25th or Oct. 2nd.

There is bound to be other teams in this situation.   If you're team is needing a game or potentially WILL need a game, please list the team and dates needed below:

South Pitt - Sept. 25th or Oct. 2nd

Powell needs a game 9/25.  Halls had to cancel.  Wonder if Powell will pick one up or use this week as there by week, and try to make up Halls game down the road, because Powell and Halls is a big rivalry game.  I guess we shall wait and see.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
