The players graduating from Henry County have generally gone on to UT Martin, Murray State, Lambuth, Columbia State, Vol State, David Lipscomb, Bethel College, Freed Hardeman, Union University, Christian Brothers and Middle Tennessee State University.

As you can see it is a broad range from Junior colleges, NAIA schools, smaller division I schools with MTSU getting the best D1 hitters over the years like Jordan Beedies, Doug Barner(MTSU/Free Agent to Tampa Bay Devil Rays Org.), Josh Archer(MTSU/Fresh. All-American Honorable Mention/freshman 1st team all Sunbelt #4 prospect in the Coastal Plain League in North Carolina) and Shane Kemp (.300 hitter 2 yrs Columbia State). Doc McDonald (Columbia State and 1984 drafted 18th round by Okland A's organization)

J.D. Flowers is at Freed Hardeman, John Hehn at Christian Brothers, Dustin Summers at UT Martin, Dylan Phillips at Columbia State, Matt Crowder was at Lambuth but now Clevland State, Archer and Kemp at MTSU. The rest have all graduated.

HCHS has talent, Do they have players willing to sacrifice there time to do the extra stuff it takes to become a college prospect and player. The rest is marketing yourself to the level your abilities allow. College camps and pro summer tryout camps will help get your name around if you are good. Try sending letters to the coaches at schools you are interested in. Bottom line is alot of hard work and commitment to move to the next level but it can be done.

Who and Why! Last Year 20-14 record. lost 1 2002 senior John Hehn who graduated and is now at Christian Brothers University.

Jr. Marquis Dumas: Good catcher, strong arm, and great bat with power. Hit 392 as a sophomore.

Jr. Matt Lee: Great foot speed, Very Good left handed arm and great hitter. High batting average and on base % at leadoff spot.

Jr. Justin Stutzman: Very good arm, great defensive player. hit 374 as a freshman. Great personality and team player. Could do some pitching in 2003.

Jr. Dane Archer: Excellent arm, must show he can hit the strike zone like he did the last four innings shutting down Rossview in the district championship game. Could be a key with Pratt on the pitching staff.

So. Josh Sanders: has good tools defensivly but must hit better this year. has great speed and pete rose kind of mentality.

So. Thom Hunter Pratt: Good hitter with power and a left handed work horse on the mound. Great arm and eats alot of innings. He weighs 200 lbs and will only get better. hit 377 as a freshman.

These are the players I think have the ability to play after high school at some level of college ball. To be D1 you have to stand out above all others in the district, region, and sometimes state. Good luck!
