So, with Milan in first place for Region 7-3A, this game will be for second place. SGC has come on strong since their early season loss to Milan. I was impressed by their strong showing vs. Haywood.

Both teams had an open date last week. Covington definitely needed it. Both the first and second string QB's for Covington sustained leg injuries against Milan. I don't know how they will be health-wise this week. And, if I did know, I wouldn't post it on Coach T. I'm sure that Coach J.R. Kirby will have somebody ready to play that position this week. SGC will have to guess who that might be.

I have scored tickets to travel to Medina for this game, so I'm hoping for good weather and a good game. What's the thinking out there on this game?

I'm gonna say Covington's defense holds and we put up just enough offensively to win. I am looking forward to some Main Street Grill before the game though.

I love MainStreet Grill. They opened a second location in Bradford TN (close to where I live) and my family eats there 1-2 a week. As far as this game goes I am torn. Man of Millions is a retard, but none the less a good friend of mine. However if the Hornets pull off the upset this week that means Milan will get Covington in 2nd round. Personally I would link to put that matchup off for another round. Ultimately I wish both teams nothing but the best and hope both come out healthy.

We ate there last year when we played them in the 3rd round and they were putting the game up on the big screen. The staff was very friendly and we were close to just staying and watching it...ha...it was freezing that night. I agree healthy is the main thing, we do have another week off next week (had a Memphis team scheduled) as well as we all are off 1st week of playoffs so I'm pretty confident that we should be full strength come playoffs. I like the idea of having 2 weeks to prepare for each of the next 3 games.

Already broke out the name calling.... It is entirely possible that we may have some key players out with health concerns. I want to find out before I make a prediction.

Im going to tell Mainstreet to drop a few dog bones in your next to go order. Loser.

Oh, just checked Sonny_Moore Power Rankings. If I believe those numbers, Covington should be a 10-point favorite. However, at this time of the season, I'm more inclined to believe that the team that can field the most healthy players  has the advantage.

I'm hoping for a good clean game with no more injuries. It's time to tune up for the playoffs and I'd like to see both teams healthy for those.

I sure remember last year...it was frigid. I had to look up the weather archives but last year's playoff game the low that night was 24. I had to break out the portable propane heater for that one. I'm hoping an extra layer be sufficient for this game. I love this weather, though! Can't wait for Friday night!

Absolutely. We are not healthy.... Does not favor our chances of knocking down the chargers.

This may be the last time these teams meet for a while. Looks like SGC is headed to 4a.

The last couple of times these teams have played they were great games.

Weather forecast shows 36 for the low Friday night at this game! It was freezing cold when we played y'all last year. Is Medina in Siberia, or what?

Sounds like I'll need to break out the Underarmor, the heavy coat, the blankets, and the hand warmers for this one.

Its our plan... Electricity doesn't flow as well in the cold..... All part of the plan to put the resistors to the chargers.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
