Does not favor our chances of knocking down the chargers. This may be the last time these teams meet for a while. Looks like SGC is headed to 4a. The last couple of times these teams have played they were great games. Yeah, I saw that. The Commercial Appeal just posted their version of next year's classification. It shows the 2021 Region 7-3A to be Covington, Ripley, Dyersburg, Milan, Haywood, and Bolivar. And SGC, as you said, would move to 4A. Y'all have been competing well in this region, and I would miss the rivalry. However, all of us Covington fans are saying "Big Ten" as we look at next year. This shake-up would re-unite us with several of those old rivals that we played in the old Big Ten Conference years ago. I, for one, will really anticipate the 2021 line-up. Maybe Covington and SGC could schedule a non-region game in the future.
00Chargers
Covington Leader is reporting that QB1 is likely out this week and QB2 is out this week. QB3 is a freshman and they do not want to toss him in against SG. So they have been utilizing one of our starting DBs (Fayne, JR) at QB. We know he can run and apparently he can throw as well. Should be real interesting.

Should be real interesting. I wondered what we would do at QB. Last year in the Milan game, we moved Marcus Hayes into the QB position and let him run the ball that way. He was very effective. Fayne is a superb athlete, though, and I expect that this might work pretty well. I hate to take him off the defense, though. He's made some great plays there already this year. The good thing is we have another off week next week and, if necessary, we can probably rest him against McNairy and the have another 2 weeks to get him healthy....so he essentially has a little better than a month to get 100%

Aside from playing well at DB, he has subbed in at running back and made some great runs from scrimmage, plus catching some passes, as I recall. He's been our punt returner, and has the only punt return TD in the Shelby Metro area this year. We might actually have a better running game with Jalen in the backfield. I am concerned as to whether he can pass under fire, plus worrying about his ball-handling skills. I guess we'll see tomorrow night. I am hoping for a good, clean, injury free game. When these teams get together it seems to always be a good one! Lets hope for the same tomorrow night! GO HORNETS!
