Can somebody explain tie breaker in DII A East

Looks like 3 tied for 2nd - I have read the rules, but I guess I am not smart enough to understand. TKA, FC and MTCS should all finish with 5 wins in the region, TKA and FC will have 2 losses - MTCS will only have one loss because the COVID to DCA does not count? Is it just region wins then regular season record?

If Kings, MTCS and FCS all finish 5-2 in the region , therefore assuming MTCS beats Webb:

1  DCA

2  Kings

3  MTCS

4  FCS

5  Franklin Grace

6  Webb

I'm slow, so your going to have to explain it to me - how does MTCS come out ahead of FCS? Provided that both win on Friday - region records would be the same between the three (unless MTCS is 5-1, not 5-2 due to the COVID loss to DCA not counting as a loss). It's a round robin on who beat who. Regular season records are: TKA 8-2; FCS 7-2; MTCS 5-5.

Covid loss is a loss

Amount of losses has nothing to do with it. It is all about wins.

Therefore, if Webb somehow beats MTCS, the standings will be.

2. FCS

3. TKA

4. MTCS

because fcs and tka have the same amount of wins it will go to head to head. And that would give the nod to Friendship.

I am pretty sure the tie breaker goes like this.  Begins with amount of region wins, then head to head record, then overall record. Although, I could be wrong.

If Webb beats MTCS then they will have 3 region losses and your order is correct.

But the question assumes a 3 way tie where the first tie- breaker is always head to head. That does not break the tie because each has lost to one of the other two.

So you go to overall wins. Here Kings wins with 8.  The best that FCa can do is 7 wins .  So Kings is Second place to DCA who is number 1

then to break tie between FCS and MTCS you go back to head to head. Here MTCS wins so they are third place and FCS is fourth place

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
