The Bracket was just revealed for the 2020 AJ Bank Ladies Classic and it is LOADED with TN Girls' Basketball Talent!  Class A teams Loretto, Clarkrange and North Greene.  AA powerhouses Macon County and Upperman - along with Grainger, South Greene and Greeneville (all of which will be good) and AAA powerhouse & defending champion Oak Ridge which will be joined by traditionally strong AAA schools Dobyns-Bennett, Jefferson Co., Morristown West and Daniel Boone.  The other schools in the tournament are Chuckey-Doak and West Greene.  They are still looking for 1 more team to complete the bracket.  They had some big time out of state teams lined up to attend - but they all backed out due to Coronavirus issues.  It should be a great tournment!

Upperman beat Bradley Central tonight and should be the favored team to win the A.J. Ladies Classic this year. When looking at the brackets, one can see many of the good teams from our state of Tennessee in the competition. Bradley has been a participant, several times, since the beginning of the tournament many years ago. The teams that featured Rhyne Howard won the tourney a couple of times in recent years. The tradition has always been to invite many teams from out-of-state, but that has changed on account of the virus. This year's bracket shows many of the best teams in Tennessee, with the notable absence of Meigs County, who gave Upperman everything they could handle last year.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
