After going down 35-0 at the half, NS came out and played a lot better in the second half. The Chargers put in the 2nd team offense late in the game, but I thought that North Side did a good job of coming back and getting 3 TD’s after halftime.

Covington 48, Jackson North Side 20: The run-heavy Chargers ran out to a 35-0 halftime lead and now sit at 2-0 on the young season. The hosts finished their night with 61 carries for 470 yards and seven rushing touchdowns. The Covington workhorse was Jamarion Dowell, who had 22 attempts for 193 yards and TD runs of 25, 4 and 28 yards. Skylan Smith also eclipsed the century mark with 102 yards on 11 carries, including a 7-yard touchdown run. Jalen Fayne, Anthony Mason and Blake Travis added touchdowns in the victory.
